OH MY GOD I’M EXHAUSTED
ok so. i know a farmer who skins wild game (for pest control and hunters) and he never uses the carcasses. so he just dumps them along a creek far away from his house. every once in a while i buy raw furs and whole carcasses from him, and he’s very supportive of me, often giving me random dead things to try to push me to keep going with taxidermy. well since all the corpses he dumps are just wasting space for him, he told me i could go back there and take as many skeletons as i wanted
AND SO I DID
there were over a few hundered corpses, i only took the ones i could easily rip out of the ground and off bodies and filled two 5 gallon buckets to the brim with bones. there’s still tons of bones i couldn’t get to because i got tired and ran out of bucket room, but since i’m allowed to go back there any time i’ll get more bones later
i collected various pelvic bones, shoulder blades, leg bones and jaws, 3 deer, 15 coyote, 4 red fox, and 37 raccoon. 59 animal craniums all together

while in the middle of collecting these skulls, a local deputy sheriff asked my farmer friend what i was doing so he rolled up to me on a four wheeler and gave me three deer craniums and some raccoons

this is  more skulls than i need (or want) so after i finish cleaning, whitening, disinfecting, and fixing every skull, i will keep a few for myself, give a few as gifts, and probably try to sell what remains
the highlights of the skulls i collected are the two bucks, doe, and the coyote cranium that was chewed on by a dog/coyote/fox
